Thank You for a Great Season!!

I would first like to say thank you to everyone that I had the pleasure of fishing with this year.  It was certainly an interesting year with high water but another great season is in the books.  The fall was a little bit of a let down on the Dream Stream.  The low water and very high crowds made fishing tough.  That being said, we were able to scrounge out a few big fish and have some great days.  With winter coming, I will be doing a fair amount of traveling to get work done for a rather large project that I signed on for. Traveling around the western United States to fish some of the finest waters in the country is sure to be a real treat.  For starters, I will be in Wyoming next week, California next weekend, and Pyramid Lake that following week.  Looking forward to traveling and meeting up with some old friends.  I want to thank everyone one more time for a great year and I look forward to fishing with many of you next season! Below are some highlights from this past year.  Click here for Colorado Fly Fishing Trips!

Book Your Trophy Brown Trout Trip!

As the summer is drawing to a close, it is difficult for me to believe that the summer is coming to an end and that fall is on the horizon.  They have begun the stream work on the Dream Stream which is scheduled to run until the beginning of October.  Due to the work, they have dropped the flows making fishing a little more challenging on some days.  That being said, there are some good fish moving around.  They are a little on the spooky side and at times selective, but with persistence we are picking up some great fish.  Deckers is also fishing well.  Flows are still a bit on the high side, but fish can certainly be caught.

As summer changes to fall and we begin to see the leaves change colors, it is that time of year to ramp up for the annual brown trout migration.  It will probably be a few weeks or so before we see any substantial movement.  I still have dates available from the end of September through the beginning of November. If you would like to book one of these trophy brown trout trips on the Dream Stream please call me at 719-494-6480 or email me at tere5643@gmail.com.  Below are some pictures of the monster fish we chase during the fall.  Book your trip today for a chance at one of these big browns!

Late Summmer Fly Fishing Trips

The last month or so fishing has been fair to great on the South Platte River.  While flows have come down drastically, the water levels are still higher than what we typically see during August.  The past two weeks have been a lot of fun trying to figure out these fish as flows have gone up and down almost daily.  The good news is that with higher than normal flows in August, we are looking forward to a great fall.  We have been catching great fish on dries, nymphs, and streamers.  It is not too early to start thinking about booking your Colorado Fly Fishing Trip for the annual brown trout migration out on the Dream Stream.  If flows stay similar to where they are now, we could have one of the best fall seasons in the past few years.  Below are some pictures of some great fish we have caught recently.

Colorado Summer Fly Fishing

It has been a little over a month since I last posted a report.  In that time, flows on many of the stretches of the South Platte River hit historically high levels.  That being said, the water is dropping now and fishing has been good to great on the Dream Stream.  This is some of the best Colorado Fly Fishing that we have seen this year.  We are seeing some big fish being caught daily on both nymphs and dries.  Yes, that's right I said dry flies.  We are picking up some great fish on the surface, even with the flows being over 600 cfs.  July is pretty booked up, but I do have a handful of days still available.  August is a little more open and we are expecting this to be one of the best Augusts in recent memory.  To book your Colorado Fly Fishing Trip, visit www.addictiveanglingcolorado.com or give me a call at 719-494-6480.  We look forward to sharing some of this great fishing with you! Below are some pictures from recent guide trips.

Runoff Fly Fishing

As I write this, the "Dream Stream" section of the South Platte River is flowing at 658 cfs.  High water and runoff has hit the South Platte in a big way.  That being said, this is Colorado Fly Fishing at its best!  We have been having some great trips on the Platte.  Do not let high water scare you from booking your Colorado Fly Fishing Trip!  Visit www.addictiveanglingcolorado.com and let me show you how to target these big, hard fighting fish.  It is a great time to hit the water.  With nearly record flows, the rest of the summer is being set up to fish lights out.  July, August, September, and October should be some of the best fishing in recent years for both high numbers and big fish.  Below are some pictures from recent trips.

Spring Fly Fishing with Addictive Angling Colorado

Spring Colorado fly fishing trips on the South Platte River have been good to great on many days.  This spring we saw some truly impressive fish despite the low water levels.  While the yearly migration of trout from Eleven Mile Reservoir is quickly coming to a close, there is still some great fishing to be had!  As the lake fish head back to the reservoir, we have some of our best fishing during the early summer months before runoff begins.  We are finding success with both nymphs and dry flies, while streamers have turned a few fish as well.  Looking forward, the summer season on the South Platte River provides anglers for countless opportunities to catch large trout on nymphs and dry flies.  There is nothing quite like watching a big leopard spotted Brown Trout slowly come to the surface to sip a dry fly.  To book your Colorado Fly Fishing Guided Trip, please visit www.addictiveanglingcolorado.com today! Below are some pictures of some great fish we have caught on recent trips.
